APPEL Director and Publisher

Dr. Edward Hoffman is Director of the NASA Academy of Program/Project and Engineering Leadership (APPEL). He is responsible for the development of program and project leaders and engineers within NASA, including the development of a comprehensive program/project management and engineering training curriculum, consulting services for project management teams, lessons learned, knowledge capture, and research and special studies on program and project management.

Editor in Chief

Laurence Prusak is the Editor-in-Chief of ASK Magazine. He is also a researcher and consultant and was the founder and Executive Director of the Institute for Knowledge Management (IKM). Larry has had extensive experience, within the United States and internationally, in helping organizations work with their information and knowledge resources. He currently co-directs “Working Knowledge”, a knowledge research program at Babson College, where he is a Distinguished Scholar in Residence.

Managing Editor

Don Cohen is Managing Editor of ASK Magazine. His articles on organizational knowledge and social capital have appeared in Harvard Business Review,California Management Review,Knowledge Management,Knowledge and Process Management, and other journals. With Laurence Prusak, he is co-author of In Good Company: How Social Capital Makes Organizations Work. He is currently a research associate with Babson College’s Working Knowledge program.

Technical Editor

Kerry Ellis is the Technical Editor for ASK Magazine. She joined APPEL and ASK after four years of editing, layout, and production experience in newspaper and book publishing. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Southwest Texas State University.

Knowledge Sharing Manager

Rosie Robinson brings to the APPEL Knowledge Sharing team a rich background in workforce development. Her experience includes leadership development for all levels of management within a project-oriented research and development environment for a large Silicon Valley computer company. Prior to joining APPEL, Rosie served as project manager for two and a half years on a Department of Labor contract where she led a team in identifying needs for the Agency's ten regions and delivering training and career development-related solutions to DOL regions across the country.

Knowledge Sharing Analyst

Ben Bruneau works as a Knowledge Sharing Analyst in the Academy of Program/ Project and Engineering Leadership (APPEL). He contributes to the programs under the Knowledge Sharing line of APPEL. These contributions include work with ASK Magazine, Masters Forums, and the Project Manager Challenge conference. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in History from the University of South Dakota.

Curriculum & Knowledge Sharing Integration Manager

Katherine Thomas works with the Knowledge Sharing team as a Curriculum and Knowledge Sharing Integration Manager, to connect the Academy's Curriculum and Knowledge Sharing efforts to enhance APPEL's impact on the project management and systems engineering community within NASA. Prior to working with NASA APPEL, Katherine worked in the training and customer relations department as a Department of Defense contractor through Carnegie Mellon University. She has extensive experience working with youth as a mentor, tutor and teacher. She has earned a BS in Secondary Education from the University of Maine.

Curriculum & Knowledge Sharing Integration Manager

Jessica Fox collaborates with APPEL's Knowledge Sharing and Curriculum divisions integrating storytelling, narrative and media into knowledge sharing and training activities. With a background in folklore and mythology and astronomy, Jessica brings to APPEL over 7 years experience in professional theater and film production including work on Broadway and freelancing for PBS. She holds a BA in Folklore and Mythology from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in Film Directing from FAMU in Prague, Czech Republic. Jessica is a member of Women in Television and Film in New England.
